Entrepreneurs association wrote an article about the growth story of Daughter of the North:
‘Founded in Kajaani in 2022, Daughter of the North Oy was originally created as a side project. One of the entrepreneurs, Edith, made jewelry as Christmas gifts for loved ones, and soon people on Instagram began asking whether the pieces could be purchased.’
We have fantastic news for you! The jewelry of Daughter of the North is now protected as works of art. In Finland, copyright protection covers many design icons, such as Marimekko’s patterns, Iittala’s glassware, and Artek’s furniture. Now our jewelry, too, has been assessed according to the same principles and recognized as independent works entitled to copyright protection!
Thank you, I Love Me 2025! This year we took part in the I Love Me fair for the second time, and this time with a bigger, more atmospheric, and more impressive booth than ever before.
We are constantly working to improve our service, and from now on, you can shop in our online store also in English. Our jewelry has previously found its way around the world through our resellers and trade fairs, but we are delighted to now be able to promote Finnish design and arctic nature even more widely.
We are expanding our operations due to growing demand and moving to new premises in Kajaani.
From now on, you can find our studio at:
Lönnrotinkatu 1 C, 87100 Kajaani.

Not just one, but two Daughter of the North jewelry collections were featured at the 2023 Presidential Independence Day Reception – rich, deep-blue blueberries and delicate, frosty-white frost flowers. The colors and themes of the pieces beautifully reflect the blue and white essence of Finland, making it all the more fitting that two remarkable women chose to wear the nature of the North to this prestigious celebration.
