Naturally, at Daughter of the North, we care deeply for the nature that inspires our jewelry. We want to share what we do to protect and respect our precious environment.

All our jewelry is designed and handmade in Finland, and every piece carries the Design from Finland and Key Flag (Avainlippu) labels. The Design from Finland label signifies high-quality Finnish design — created professionally, responsibly, and with a user-centric approach. The Key Flag symbol shows that the product is of strong Finnish origin, made in Finland and supporting Finnish employment.

Every flower, leaf, and berry in our jewelry is crafted by hand from the very beginning. Our pieces are not only hand-assembled — they are genuinely handmade. Each design is created with you in mind: from small and ultra-light pieces to bold and striking statement jewelry that still remains comfortably lightweight. Behind every jewelry collection lies a story and a deeper meaning. These stories are available in our online store within each product's description, and your selected collection’s story is also included on the inside of every jewelry box lid.

Our metal components are made of hypoallergenic, high-quality stainless steel: 316 and 304, as well as 18K gold-plated 316 and 304 stainless steel. Our jewelry boxes are made of FSC-certified cardboard, and the glue used in them carries the ECO label. Our shipping boxes are also FSC-certified. We source our raw materials from trusted, long-established suppliers to ensure consistent quality and availability. We recycle our waste and design our materials and processes to minimize excess — leaving little to no leftover material.

Our studio, production, and storage facilities are located in Kajaani, Finland, and are heated using geothermal and district heating. Our company also uses an electric car for transportation needs.

Each jewelry model and part is carefully tested during the design phase to ensure durability and long-lasting wear.
